Mae Of Longfellow: A Baby Shower

We attended a slightly atypical family baby shower in Wisconsin this weekend. ?Instead of being nauseatingly covered in pink and blue, colored lights were strewn over the yard and coolers were stocked with Wisconsin beer ... for those able to imbibe, of course.

The party was hosted by long-time family friends of my husband, and I imagine that their house would have been the best place to visit as a kid. ?They are the type of people to bring out canvases so that all of the kids (and adults) can paint and they have a tower on the side of their house that has a bed overlooking the Baraboo bluffs. ?They had homemade bread and guacamole, and we stuffed ourselves as we watched an outdoor movie projected on to a sheet at dusk.
