Boston Real Estate Blog | Home Buyers Expected to Stay in their ...

Posted on by DavidB

The National Association of Home Builders recently published a report showing that the average single family home buyer is expected to stay in their home for an average of 13 years.? This average is a longer period of time than buyers of investment properties or condominiums are expected to hold onto their properties.

If you?ve been thinking about buying a new?Boston home, it?s important that you keep this number in mind. You aren?t just buying a place to live for a couple of years; in all odds, you?ll be there for over a decade. That means you need to make sure that whatever home you settle on has everything you need for a long time. If you?re planning on raising a family, account for the extra space and bedrooms you might need. If you run an office or work from home, make sure you have enough room to effectively operate your business without compromising the comfort of your home.

As always, you should make sure that you?re working with a qualified, well connected Boston real estate agent during your hunt for a new home. Communicate all of your specific, personal needs to them, and they?ll get to work on finding you the perfect Boston home.
